Flowers for Granny

I just thought this picture was precious!!!! Last Sat. we stopped on the side of the road so Bubby could pick his Great-Granny Lorean some flowers. I call them Easter lillies since I don't know the real name of them. HA! This has become a tradition for us to do each year. And I don't know who looks forward to it more....Bubby picking just the right flowers or Granny knowing that we are bringing her some! He is so sentimental in the things he does and I am so proud of him. He is my baby!!
Here he is with the perfect bouquet for Granny. When we took them to her late that night, she was almost in tears. Bubby asked her if she still had her vase that she usually puts them in. And she let him know that it was on her counter and had been wondering when he was going to bring her some flowers. Isn't that just so cute!! He really loves his Granny.

More from Skip Day

On Bubby's skip day, last Tuesday, we stopped to eat at the Daisy Queen in Marshall. You have got to have one of their burgers if you haven't already!! Anyways, we ate in the gameroom so we could play pool. Bub is starting to get pretty good at it.
He challenged is daddy a couple of games. We had a great time.

Calf Working Time

Last weekend, Bubby and his daddy worked all of our calves and Bubby's calves. He is up to 7 now!!! He ear tagged, de-horned, vaccinated, etc. all by himself on his calves. He is growing up too fast. I can remember when I got to go out and help work calves (mom can't go now since daddy has his helper!!) and I would be carry Bubby around in one arm and handing Donald the stuff in the other. Oh, how the times have changed!!! He is definately the FARM BOY!!!

Leroy & Olive

This is Donald's parents, Leroy and Olive. Today would have been their 53rd wedding anniversary. This is their wedding day picture. They brought 3 wonderful children into this world...Ronald, Brenda, and Donald. We have become such a close family.

This is a later picture of them. They were such happy, lovable people. They were so much fun to be around. Marcus did get to spend a little time with them before they left us. But, they are being taken care of in heaven. We love and miss them soo much.
We gave them a 45th anniversary party in 2001. They enjoyed it so much. We had a lot of people that were very near and dear friends to them that got to come to it. They were very surprised because they knew nothing about it!!! That was probably the hardest part of the party....keeping them from finding out!!
Happy 53rd Anniversary Leroy and Olive!!!!!!!!!!
We love and miss you!!

Hide-out tent

Last Sunday night, Bubby decided that he needed a hide-out tent in the kitchen. So, him and I made one out of blankets. It was fun to listen to him in there talking to his dog, Sammy.
He had all of the lights turned off and had plugged in a night lite.

He thought it was really fun to have a hide-out. He wanted to leave it up all week. I told him that was fine, but there would not be any supper cooked all week since I wouldn't be able to use my kitchen. It didn't take him long when he was done playing to take it down. This boy loves his momma's cooking!!!!

Brag Time...

I have to brag just a little. I just got back from parent-teacher conferences. And yes I got great news!!!!! My little Bubby is just awesome! He is reading chapter books and taking accelerated reading tests on them. He also took a math skills test and scored 93.3 on it. He tested in the level of a middle of the year 3rd grader. He is sooo smart!!! He also gets to start taking accelerated math tests. This just made him even more special on Valentine's Day!!!!! We are proud of you, Bubby!!!!!

Bubby's V-Day Party

Yesterday was Bubby's Valentine party at school. They always have such great parties. He really enjoys them. Donald and I both went. Isn't he just the cutest Valentine a mom could have??!! He has made so many friends in school, I had to take a picture of him with each of them!! I won't bore you by putting them on here.
Except for this little cutie, Bree. She is such a doll and very much a tomboy. Marcus came to me and whispered in my ear that he wanted a picture taken. I said with who? He said with Bree mom will you ask her to come over here for a picture. So, I asked her to come where I was and this is what I got. Aren't they cute??!! But WAY TO YOUNG to worry about anything more than being best of buds!! Happy Valentine's DAY!!!
