Relay for Life

(me, Rena, Marcus, Dewanda)
We had a great time Friday night at the Relay for Life in Flippin. We walked and walked!! We enjoyed several activities while there and had lots of good laughs and fun!
One event was the dunking booth. Marcus had to give it a try and he did really good. He hit the target and the guy went in the water!! He was excited about that.

They also had the pool open late. Marcus spent three hours in the pool. He was soo proud of himself because he didn't have his lifejacket. He was doing cannon-balls and everything else! We are glad we went to be with Rena. We had a good time!! We love you Rena!!!

Donald's Father's Day

Marcus wanted to feed for his daddy. He is such a big boy.
He caught me taking pictures off the back porch!! So, he agreed, and stopped for me to get one of him!! He loves the 4-wheeler, cows, and anything outside. He is such a hard worker already. He came in to tell his dad how they were, how many were there, etc.

Sunday morning we took Donald out for breakfast at The Gilbert Cafe. It was good. Marcus just kept eating!! They have really good food. So, if you are ever near the big town of Gilbert, AR, you should make a stop to eat near the river!!

Lucas's Birthday

My sister, Megan, had her house beautifully decorated for Lucas's 1st birthday. Since he is a Flag Day baby....she decorated with of course lots of flags!! Lucas is also very fascinated with flags. The cake was cute along with everything else. We enjoyed a very delicious meal with bbq pork, baked beans (I made), broc-n-cheese casserole, and hashbrown casserole (Cracker Barrell's recipe), and pineapple-coconut pie (Aunt Myrt made). All of the food was very good, and there was very little left!!
Luke did not really know what to do with the cake until now.....
He absolutely demolished his cake!! And when he had enough....he had enough!! He wiped his hands thru his hair and everything which led to blue hair and clean-up time!! It brought back memories of when Marcus was little. I can't believe they grow up sooooo fast!
One of his favorites was the bags of balls!! Megan and Skylor will get up in the middle of the night and trip over these things!! And when they tell me about it...guess what...they bought them!!!! We enjoyed the party and Happy Birthday Lucas!!

My Daddy

My dad has been wanting a bbq apron for a long time. He said that he hasn't hot one yet because he hasn't found really what he was looking for. So, for Father's Day, I made him one!! I found this hideous material at a flea market. I really just made it for a joke, but he loved it!!! My new found passion is sewing amongst everything else that I try to do!! I made him put it on to model. I can't fond enough great things to say about my daddy!! The best thing is that in just a few days we will share the same birthday once again!!!!!

The Dickerson Park Zoo

Daddy and Bubby
Me and my Bubby

He was very photogenic on this trip!! Thank goodness I didn't have to argue about getting pictures taken!! I think the background of this one looks really good with the clothes he picked out to wear. Yes, mom doesn't get to pick the clothes anymore...he is a BIG BOY!!

The beloved petting zoo!! All they had this year in it was goats. I guess the mini-cow they had has passed on. It was older than the hills!!

He was looking out at the antelope, deer, and others thru this view finder. He is getting so big! Just a few years ago, he couldn't even reach this thing!!

"Hello, nice to meet you...am I close enough?" The giraffe has got to be one of the ugliest animals...really just their heads!!

Marcus also loves feeding the animals at the zoo. We tell each other every year that the next time we go, we will make our own treat bags to take with us. But, of course, we don't!! What fun is it if you don't have a pocket full of quarters!!

This baby giraffe was only about a week old. I am glad I didn't have to have it!! The thing is already huge!! These animals are soo tall. They could probably step right over youand never even know that you were there!!

They also have a waterfall type deal that pops up and if you are standing by one of the holes...you get wet. He loved this because he was hot and this "Really cools you off, mom!!"

On the train, we got to see alot of animals, too. There as a momma duck with babies that was very cute. Marcus looks forward to the train. It is the last thing to do in the zoo.

The last picture of the day....on top of the elephant!! He was tired, hot, and ready to go. But the picture was his idea!!

Vacation Time

We ate Friday night at Steak-n-Shake. It was very good. Donald and Marcus had the Fresco burger with cheese fries. I had a bacon cheeseburger with fries. Marcus topped his meal off with a vanilla milkshake and we passed on dessert.
Marcus absolutely loves the water. So, he stayed in the pool most of the time!! He is getting really good at swimming.
He was even braver by jumping off in the deeper end a couple of times!!

He is like a little fish!!He was showing us the different ways to swim and this was the backwards swim!!

Awards Program

We started off Friday by going to the end of the year Awards Program at school. Marcus received the Scholarship Award. We are soooo proud of him. We asked him what the award meant and he told us that it was the top award of his class. Yea!!! He was very excited to have received the award. He also told us that all of his studying has paid off!!
This was his last day of kindergarden. He asked Mrs. Downs if he could just come back next year and she laughed and told him that she would see him over the summer. He has really loved her as a teacher and has learned so much. We can't believe how smart he is!!He had to have a picture of him and Mrs. Downs before we left school. THANK YOU Kelli for everything you have done for Marcus this year in school!!
Aunt Nay (Rena) also surprised Marcus on his last day of school by coming to his program. He was excited to see her there and kept turning around to make sure we were all still there!! Her and Uncle Ron are also very proud of Marcus. And, of course, the rest of the family is too!!

Morris BBQ

Dewanda, Heather, Granny Lorean, and Brenda
I tried to get more pictures but my guests did not cooperate!! We really enjoyed getting together and eating of course!! Granny said that she ate enough to cure all of her ailments. I thought that was too funny!! She also said that she really enjoyed coming over and visiting with everyone. I hope all of you guys got enough to eat!!
This is a very (I MEAN VERY!!) delicious new pie that I made. My mom gave me the recipe...so thanks mom!! Everyone really liked it. It is called Straw-Ban-Pine Pie which is short for strawberry-banana-pineapple. Very delish!!

We also enjoyed cheeseburgers, hot dogs, cheddar brats, chips, and pork-n-beans. What's a bbq without prok-n-beans?? Not at my house!! HA! I really enjoyed having everyone over and cooking even though it was HOT outside!!!

Sleeepy Boy

Marcus was very tired last Friday night. I took this picture about 11:30 pm. He had stayed up as long as he could. He is very excited since this Friday will be his last day of kindergarden. :( I can't believe this school year is nearly over. Friday we have an awards program to attend and then we are off to celebrate the end of the school year with a weekend trip. I don't know if the celebration is more for Marcus or for us!! HA!!

Cousins

Aren't these two boys just the cutest things!!! Yes, I am prejudice since one is my son and the other my nephew!! I love these boys!!!!!!!!!!
