FIELD DAY

We went to watch Marcus in Field Day last Friday. They had many events that included th long jump, high jump, football throw, baseball throw, obstacle course, 50 yard dash, 100 yard dash, 1 lap and 2 laps around outside of ball field, sack race, three legged sack race, and wheel barrow race. It was a very nice day for it...partly cloudy until the sun came out in the late afternoon. The kids had a lot of fun, but were worn out at the end of the day. I think we were too!! The long jump
Marcus loved this one....the football and baseball throw.

The 50 and 100 yard dashes. Marcus finished 3rd and 2nd respectively. I asked hime why he did better on the longer one than the shorter one. His answer was that you can run faster the longer you go and the other boys got tired!! How do kids come up with this stuff??!!

Marcus, Casey (my cousin), and Lance (one of Marcus's friends)

This race they had to run around the entire baseball field 3 times. I don't think I could even make it to 2nd base let alone the entire outside of the field. Casey was helping in this event, and Marcus was sure glad to see her!! He loves those girls!! She encouraged him to finish and he didn't do too bad with a 5th place!!

The sack race was quite the entertainment!! It was very funny to watch the kids participate in these events. This is my little angel!!

This was a much enjoyed (and needed!!) ice cream break. This is Bree (very much a tomboy!!) and Marcus. They have become good friends. She is a little cutie, too!!

The High Jump...I was surprised at how high these little kids can jump!!

Marcus on the obstacle course. He loves the monkey bars...I guess that is because he is part monkey!! HA!!!

A very tired Marcus. The obstacle course was the last event of the day and the poor thing was just worn out!!

Megan's Graduation Party

This is what I had put on her cake!!! I thought that it was very fitting for her party!! HA!!
Megan is now on her way to a great career as a teacher!! I know she will do great at it because that is all she has ever wanted to be in life. We had a great time Saturday afternoon with lots of people dropping in to see her and lots and lots of food!!! I enjoyed planning and getting everything for her party ready BUT I sure am glad that it is over!!! I am proud of you , Megan!!

My Mother's Day

My boys wore matching shirts Sunday so I tried to find one that would go with theirs. We had a great day. They took me out for breakfast and got me a food processor and a garden waterer. Marcus woke me up at 6:30AM just to say, "Momma, it's Mother's Day...Happy Mother's Day, Mom....I love you!!" So, yes, after tears, I went ahead and got up!!

Sister Day

Last Sunday, May 4, Megan, Luke, and I went to Lindsey's house for dinner. Lindsey made grilled chicken, green beans, a spinach roll-up, and then she topped it off with a chocolate mousse pie for Megan and a cherry pie for me. It was very delicious!! Of course, we ate too much!! After dinner, we went to the Dollar Tree, C&K, and Wal-Mart to do a little shopping. We had such a great time!! So, girls, when are we doing it again??!!

Last weekend we took Marcus to spend the weekend in Fayetteville. We had told him that if he had done good in school, we would take him to Chuck e Cheese. He had seen their ad on tv and thought it would be a great place to go!! We had a blast!! He had also earned the right to go since he has made a 100% on all of his spelling tests and only missed one question out of 4 days worht of SAT-10 tests. I am soooo proud of him. If you have kids, this place is a definate to take them to. It was great!! We had pizza and played a lot of games. Donald and I even tried our hand at a few of them!! We then went to stay at a hotel. Marcus loves to stay in a hotel because he has his own space to do whatever he wants and doesn't get in trouble for making a mess!!! Saturday night we ate at Applebee's. That is Marcus new favorite restaurant!! We had a really good meal although we ate too much!! Then on Sunday it was back to home. We had such a great time and really enjoy getting to take Marcus to places that he asks to go to. When we got home Sunday he said that he was tired but had had a lot of fun!!

HARD (HAT) AT WORK!!

Marcus loves to be outside working. When he went with us to the drill the other day, he was telling his Uncle Ron all about it. Well, Uncle Ron told him that he needed a hard hat. And to make sure he got a white one because the boss always wears white!!. So, the good mom I am, found this hard hat and put a sticker on it for Marcus. He loves it!! He lets everyone know that he knows how to do everything and that he IS THE BOSS!!!
